Executive Leadership Committee
The Brent's Place Executive Leadership Committee is a membership-based volunteer group. Members of the ELC are Brent's Place volunteers giving their time in areas that are of interest to them and where they can use their skills and talents in meaningful ways that support the Brent's Place services. Established in 2010 to support Brent’s Place programming and fundraising, the group has grown to be the organizations largest volunteer committee.
Executive Leadership Committee events include monthly happy hour/networking socials, fundraisers, and exclusive volunteer opportunities.
The Executive Leadership Committee is made up of two Committees:
The ELC Program Committee plans and hosts monthly weekend parties and programs for the families at Brent's Place. In 2014 programs hosted by the ELC included a St. Patrick's day scavenger hunt, an Easter brunch and egg hunt, a Mother's Day tea, and holiday hot chocolate party with carolers! For the families at Brent's Place these weekend parties are a lifeline to experiencing normal everyday joys. At this time these weekend volunteer opportunities are exclusive to members of the ELC.
The Event and Fundraising committee works to raise essential funding for the Brent's Place housing program. The main fundraising event is the annual Urban Navigator event. This adventure race raises over $40,000 every year for Brent's Place and is entirely planned and put on by the members of the ELC! Other fundraising endeavors have included wine tastings and races. Members are invited to join at least one committee, although many members participate in both! Committees meet monthly.
